Strategies will include:
- When possible, use buildings as the campus edge instead of fences and keep the campus exterior sight lines open.
- Use the Welcome Center and Admin as a control point, providing staff with eyes on the street and the security vestibule
- One single point of entry during school time (multiple supervised entries OK when students arrive and leave)
- Electronic keypads and keycards at gates that tie into a DNS system and have the ability to have a key override for first responders
- Ability to put key card access on gates with no gates on parking lots
- Ensure gates meet exit code for the school population to exit safely once they are outside and locating adequately sized on-campus safe dispersal areas
- Security cameras, quantity based on the site need

The Ed Specs serve to illustrate concepts that will inform the master plans based on OUSD's aspirations to the audience of future architects who will implement them as well as for OUSD stakeholders to understand the reasoning behind modernizations.

Campus Management

Is there one single point of entry during school time with eyes on the entry to Admin?

Secured Vestibule

Is it appropriate for this campus to have a security vestibule at Admin in which a visitor needs to be cleared by a receptionist before they enter the school?

Perimeter Visibility

Admin has visibility to the perimeter of the site as well as student and parent entry.
