The following adjacency plan diagrams highlight the strategy of combining two finger buildings around a shared outdoor learning courtyard to create a new small learning community for two grade levels. Using space types, or the DNA of a small learning community, future design teams will tailor the DNA for each campus. If the distance between two buildings is 30' or less, consider enclosing the space to create indoor commons.to create a new small learning community. The following example highlights one of many possible configurations.

The adjacency diagram shows relationships between learning spaces, it is not a floor plan.

The Ed Specs serve to illustrate concepts that will inform the master plans based on OUSD's aspirations to the audience of future architects who will implement them as well as for OUSD stakeholders to understand the reasoning behind modernizations.
